November 4, 2019VMware is pleased to announce Historical Trending for Findings and Remediations within VMware Skyline. Skyline, developed by VMware Global Services, is a proactive support technology available to customers with an active Production Support, or Premier Support entitlement. Skyline automatically and securely collects, aggregates and analyzes customer-specific product usage data to proactively identify potential issues and improve time-to-troubleshooting. Today, Skyline identifies potential issues for vSphere, NSX-V, vSAN, Horizon 7, and vRealize Operations.
Customers care both about what is in-front of them, as well as what is behind them. Much can be learned from past experiences. With this, we are excited to announce historical findings & remediations in Skyline. This information will allow a customer to view what potential issues are in-front of them, when those potential issues surfaced within their environment, and what potential issues they have recently remediated.
Potential Issue Identified, and Remediated, Before it Occurred
The Historical Trends dashboard will display trend information based upon the number of findings, and affected objects, within your environment. Furthermore, the number of findings, and objects, remediated will also be displayed. Helping anchor the trending information are two new fields, Date Observed and Date Remediated.
The Date Observed field will show when a finding was first observed within your environment. A new finding could be the result of new objects within your environment, a patch/upgrade that introduces new potential issues, or a new finding being added to the Skyline platform. The Date Remediated field will show when you remediated a finding within your environment.
