February 7, 2019SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced it exceeded 1,000 customers using its continuous performance management (CPM) functionality in just two years since its launch.
The CPM capabilities are delivered as part of the SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals solution. The exceptional adoption of this functionality demonstrates how companies around the world are transforming performance management to increase employee engagement and boost retention.
“If you want to create a high-performing organization that beats the competition and drives innovation, optimizing performance management is the first step,” said SAP SuccessFactors President Greg Tomb. “In today’s competitive labor market, checking in with employees once a year is no longer enough. Our continuous performance management capabilities enable organizations to focus on forward-looking development and driving high performance by encouraging frequent coaching and feedback between managers and employees.”
Continuous performance management helps improve employee engagement and overall workforce performance by facilitating informal check-ins and more continuous dialogue between managers and employees. With this ongoing approach, managers have increased visibility into employee activities and achievements continuously, enabling them to provide coaching and guidance when it is relevant. Employees also may give and receive feedback at any time, to or from anyone in the organization. This modern, mobile-enabled approach helps foster happier, more engaged employees and higher performance that is aligned to business goals and strategies. At the same time, it helps create vast efficiencies in the annual review process.
“As an engineering company that employs mechanical engineers all over the world, our staff was accustomed to focusing solely on performance outcomes,” said Rob Arbogast, director of People Systems and Strategy at The Timken Company. “With the introduction of the continuous performance management capabilities from SAP, we’ve shifted to a model focused on coaching and development, and I’ve seen our workforce engaged at a new level. SAP SuccessFactors solutions have also enabled us to easily adapt the different cultures of acquired companies into one common understanding of goals and performance, creating a more integrated, purpose-driven workforce.”
“It is important to have continual dialogue with employees to ensure they are not only meeting their objectives but are also engaged and challenged,” said Danielle Tweedie, Global HRIS solution owner at Arla Foods. “With our reimagined performance management process enabled by SAP’s innovative technology, our business aims to advance its performance and development culture, where objectives are aligned to business strategy yet customized to each colleague.”
